Precise accuracy of fit and coplanarity of the contact pins are the foundation for a reliable contact behaviour of electric plug connections. Are connecting pins too short or too long, this can lead to unpredictable failures by contact-loss or to damages of the housing. Bended pins usually don't come to a standstill on the particular contact-opening in case of plugging and are thereby completely deviated. Classical methods of measurement reach their limits here.

Solution

Based on the principle of the fringe projection topometry, the system Pulsar provides a high measurement accuracy by simultaneously minor acquisition period. The possibility of fast and easy calibration on site within the manufacturing plant arranges an enormous cost- and time-saving. The calibration is, through a special calibration target, smoothly realizible within ca. 15 minutes.

Benefit

The system gets around the weaknesses of the light-section-method and reduces the mechanical effort for the positioning of the test object about a multiple. An intelligent analyzing-logic determines the measured variable for evaluating the test object based on the 3D data. Through the graphical teaching-function, it is possible in a trice to adapt the system to new types or to change the testing-tolerance. Of course, all the measured values can be logged and statistically evaluated. In this way, the manufacturing process becomes transparent and process-fluctuations can quickly be identified and localized. Cost-intensive serial-errors therewith are a thing of the past.
