Braided sleeving / fiberglass / protection / polyurethane-coated

Glass sleeves with polyurethane varnish or impregnation

are considered to be a cost effective alternative to silicone sleeves. They are also highly flexible, exhibit good dielectric values (1 - 4 KV effective dielectric strength at test voltage of one minute) and serve as protection for buckling and abrasion. Their resistance to temperature, however, is limited. They display values in line with insulating materials in class F( 155 °C) . Siliconised sleeves, however, can be supplied with values expected of class H (+ 180 °C) or class C (> 180 °C ).
Treatment with polyurethane, carried out on our own premises, guarantees that the glass fibre does not fray on further processing, i.e. we consider a non-fraying finish our standard type of finish.
In some fields of application PU-glass sleeves can be replaced by our acrylic-glass sleeves.
