There is a reason why Pentair X-Flow's microfiltration membranes have become the popular choice for wine, cider and grape juice filtration, accounting for 20% of the total wine production all over the world.

Made from polyvinylpirrolidone (PVP) and modified polyethersulfone (PES) materials, the R-100 membrane meets all the high standards of quality set forth by Pentair X-Flow in terms of overall quality of the beverage, taste of the beverage, economic and environmental impacts, and even the amount of loss incurred throughout the process. Colloid retention in the wine is more regulated, thanks to chemical properties on the surface of the membrane itself.

The average pore size of the membrane's filtration system is 0.1 um, with the maximum set at 0.2 um. This is partly responsible for the reduction of yeast, bacteria, and other microorganisms to lower than 1 cell per 100ml, and its turbidity level to less than 1 NTU.
