The name of this product is TERA OSCAT all-fiber THz spectrometer. For fast data acquisition it is based on the novel OSCAT (Optical Sampling by CAvity Tuning) technique. This technique helps in enabling THz time-domain spectroscopy without any external delay line. The OSCAT technique which is similar to the ASOPS technique offers the capabililty of high speed imagine measurements. This overall helps the system configuration being very flexible.
The principle of the OSCAT technique is to make use of the laser repetition rate and two differently long output fibers which introduces a variable delay between the femtosecond pulses arriving at the THz emitter and the receiver antenna. The elimination of constraints of the conventional mechanical delay lines is done with the help of scanning through repetition rate variation.
This system has the ability to quickly change between transmission and reflection geometry and this is possible because of the design of this instrument.
It has two modes of operation which makes TERA OSCAT a versatile tool for high-resolution and high-speed data acquisition system.
