Using a digital mock-up of the seat and of the occupant, the comfort application within Virtual Performance Solution predicts some detailed information related to Seat Manufacturing and Performances, taking into account the complex physics of materials (foams, fabrics, and plastics), the multiple contacts (between lumbar support and foam, between foam and cover, between cover and occupant), and the time-dependent processes (standardized sitting processes of dummies). The physical parameters resulting from each stage of the chain (positions, deflections, strains and stresses) are used as an input to the following one, in order to ensure a high level of precision, whatever the seat and the anthropometry of the occupant.
