Hollow Ceramic Emitters are manufactured with a rear hollow that serves as thermal barrier. Thus less heat is emitted to the rear which saves the energy resources as well as the surrounding cabinet. Due to their small dimensions the heating times are reduced by approx. 40 % compared to solid ceramic emitters. Thus they can be ideally used at cyclic and often interrupted processes.
Even if it is possible to reach almost the same energy efficiency with solid ceramic emitters by using reflectors, hollow ceramic emitters have the advantage of operating efficiently also without reflector and "conserves" it when using a reflector as it is less stressed. Finally due to the already "installed" radiation efficiency it also less depends on the reflector's perfect functioning.
