Rod End Bearings are a mechanical articulating joint. The device is also known as a heim joint in North America or a rose joint in U.K and everywhere else. It is used on the ends of cylinders, linkages, rods, and shafts to take up any misalignment present between connected parts. The bearing has a spherically-shaped inner ring and also a cylindrical bore needed for mounting on a shaft.

They are connected to rods and shafts using a male stud with external threads. It can be connected also using female housing with internal threads. Right-handed threads are tightened in a clockwise direction and are the most commonly used type. Left-handed threads tighten in a counterclockwise direction and must match mating part. These bearings are available in different variations with different specifications such as design units, bore diameter, major diameter, bearing thickness, housing diameter, overall length, and thread length.
