Venturi vacuum pump / single-stage / lubricated / for diesel engines

Varivent is a step-less, variable venturi EGR pump for turbo-charged diesels and petrol that optimizes efficiency by recirculating cooled exhaust gas back into the engine air intake on demand. The result is a lower combustion temperature and so less NOx.
Varivent is designed to meet present and forthcoming legislation in Europe, Japan and the USA governing levels of nitrous oxide emissions with high efficiency (>90%) and low fuel consumption.
The design is based on the well-established venturi principle which allows the static pressure to be recovered downstream of the exhaust inlet before the gaseous mixture enters the cylinder. The speed at the throat of the venturi can be altered by changing the position of the aerodynamically-shaped body, which results in optimum gas exchange and therefore outstanding fuel economy.
Step-less linear motion is achieved through the use of an actuator controlled by a proportional valve integrated into the unit. The design is robust, reliable and cost-efficient, with no service requirement during the life of the engine.
