Electroluminescent lamp controller

Supertex HV 857L is a high voltage and low noise driver for EL (electroluminescent) lamps up to five square inches in size. It is the low-noise modification of the standard HV 857 driver for EL lamps.
The input voltage for this driver ranges from 1.8 V to 5 V. The device uses a minimum quantity of passive components and only one inductor. The nominal rated output voltage applied to EL lamps is around 95 V. By connecting the resistor on the RSW-Osc to VDD or ground you can regulate the enable/disable function of the chip.
This chip has two internal oscillators, a high voltage EL lamp driver and a switching MOSFET. The switching MOSFET frequency can be set by using an external resistor which is connected between supply pin/VDD and the RSW-Osc pin. The lamp driver frequency can be set by using an external resistor which is connected between the VDD and REL-Osc pins. Finally, the external inductor is connected between VDD and LX pins.
