Integrated into the screen printer, Stinger operates just as an in-line dispenser would. Once the PCB is screen printed, it is lowered down to vision height where Stinger accurately dispenses adhesive or solder paste. Stinger enables rapid product change and replenishment without system cleaning to eliminate production errors and streamline dispensing performance.

DUAL PRINTING FUNCTIONALITY
Stinger is a low volume dispense module attached to the camera carriage of a standard DEK printer (as an optional extra). It is not designed to replace a regular dispenser but to provide dual functionality to the print platform for customers who require a number of glue dots to be dispensed. Applications where this could be applicable are mixed technology boards where both solder paste and adhesive are required. The sorts of products/applications where this mixed technology is most prevalent are high value and high quality safety critical products ie communication cards used in server modules and storage, where adhesive is deposited for large devices that still require a wave solder process. Another application would be for products exposed to harsh environments i.e. high vibration, here the adhesive would be used to increase the reliability of a component and there are of course the applications where adhesive is required to provide additional bond strength for critical components such as connectors or large mass devices.
