The new Scalance XC100-40BR optical bypass relay is another sophisticated and highly efficient device from the Siemens automation division. This device is designed using the latest technology to make it very efficient and perform as expected at all times. This device is used to permit uninterrupted deactivation and activation of Ethernet devices in and industry line and ring structures. This way, there would be no interruption to other network users and maintenance work can go on without any of the other devices being affected. Within 10 milliseconds the two optical interfaces would be able to be reconnected and thus the network component that is deactivated will be bypassed automatically while disconnected from the power supply. The bypass will remain intact for long enough when the power is once again connected so as to ensure that the network components are ready for operation.
