Serving GPRS support node (SGSN)

The Serving GPRS Support Node ? Mobility Management Entity (SGSN-MME) is a network management tool designed to support packet-data switching as well as improve session and mobility management.

The features are optimized for two types of networks: WCDMA plus LTE. This model is an upgrade from the SGSN platform, with add-on features of SGSN-MME server qualities required for networks supporting Evolved Packet Core networks. The server in this upgraded level will now support triple 3GPP access in addition to the above three mentioned networks, namely WCDMA, LTE and GSM.
