Volex recently added a 16-position shielded I/O connector to its range of high speed cable assemblies. The 16-position shielded I/O connector offers 8 pair connectors providing a reduced side-by-side pitch of 12.5mm and PCB level EMC protection assuring data transmission speeds of 2.5Gb/s and greater.

The 16-position shielded I/O cable assembly can be used to transmit high speed signals between cabinets or adjacent racks. Its shorter cable exit means it can be utilized where cabinet spacing is restricted. The crosstalk and impedance control allow for transmission of signals using active equalization, enabling longer cable lengths to connect racks or cabinets located in separate rooms. Example test reports of the cable assembly are available on request.
