Fiber optic adapter / SMA

This do-it-yourself bare fiber termination and polishing kit is perfect for the fiber tinkerer who wants to polish bare (unjacketed) optical fiber without terminating it. The unique connect-and-release adapter chuck allows you to securely hold the fiber within one of the included SMA 905 connectors without epoxy for temporary use.



Each Bare Fiber Adapter Kit includes instructions for polishing bare optical fibers, as well as:

6 SMA-style fiber-polishing holders, sized to accommodate our 100 µm, 200 µm, 300 µm, 400 µm, 600 µm, and 1000 µm optical fibers
A BFA-KIT-CHUCK connect-and-release adapter to securely hold bare optical fiber within the included fiber-polishing holders
Several pieces of wire for cleaning out the polishing holders and connect-and-release adapter

An SMA polishing puck is not included with the kit, but is available separately or within our fiber termination kit. The puck is used to polish the surface of the optical fiber.
