Falling film evaporator / chemical wastewater

The GE fixed evaporator provides recovery of up to 95% of industrial waste-water through a system that includes a vertical tube, falling film brine concentrators, and evaporators. The resulting high-purity distillate may be used for flue-gas desulfurization (FGD) blow-down, boiler and cooling tower makeup, NOx control, and process use. The byproduct of recycling, the remaining 5%, is a slurry concentrate that can be used for ash wetting, can be sent to a small solar pond, or reduced to dry solids in a crystallizer or spray dryers.
