A utility grade and fully handled Ethernet switch is what we called the RUGGEDCOM RS900G. This device offers dual fiber optical Gigabit Ethernet ports and eight Fast Ethernet copper ports which gives a great level of immunity to electromagnetic interference and heavy electrical surges typical to operate on harsh industrial environments found in electric utility substations, factory floors or in curb side traffic control cabinets. It has -40°C to +85°C operating temperature range combined with hazardous location certification, optional conformal coating, and a galvanized steel enclosure, allows the RS900G to be located in about any area. The installed RUGGEDCOM Operating System (ROS®) supports excellent networking features like Enhanced Rapid Spanning Tree (eRSTP?), Port Rate Limiting and a broad range of intelligent performance for high network availability and compliance.
