The Ruggedcom RS940G is an Ethernet switch that works with six or eight ports for Ethernet use. This uses six 10/100/1000BaseTX triple speed ports and can also feature an additional pair of gigabit fiber or copper ports. This is an affordable solution that can link to many devices on a Gigabit Ethernet unit. This is especially useful in many difficult environments as it is immune to electromagnetic interference and electrical surges. These include surges that are found in many electric utility substations. This can manage process controls in many traffic control cabinets and can operate at conditions from -40 to 85 degrees Celsius. This may also use a conformal coating and galvanized steel body if needed. The unit works with layer 2 and layer 3 networking functions and can protect itself from outside security threats within a network.
