Concrete railway sleeper mold

Railway sleepers began their history with the arrival of the train in 1804. If it took several days in 1900 to travel 1000 km, one hardly needs more than three hours nowadays with the new high speed generation of trains all across the world. The railway sleeper of wood was soon replaced by a piece of concrete and, at present, this one by prestressed concrete sleepers.

The principle of prestressed railway sleepers is simple:

Casting of the concrete
Curing and drying within 8 to 10 hours until the concrete becomes hard enough
Expanding the cables
Demoulding of the sleepers
