Built-in freewheel cage / bearing

The DC Series is a sprag type freewheel cage from Stieber that is designed without inner or outer races. It is suitable for installation in designs that provide races, bearing supply for axial and radial loads, lubrication, and sealing. It accepts any type of lubricant that is used in power transmission machines.

The operation should not exceed its sprag space tolerance. The inner and outer races need to have a minimum plain width "e" without recess in order to guarantee the proper freewheel function. Furthermore, the races can be constructed with a hardened steel shaft cases or housings. It also requires a surface harness of at least HRC 60 to 62 for a minimum depth of 0.6 mm.
