For this new syringe stirrer we have integrated a conventional magnetic stirrer (magnetic stirring bar) in a high quality 50 ml glass syringe. A rotating permanent magnet in the stirring ring of the stirring module employs a rotating magnetic field to cause a stir bar (also called "flea") inside the syringe to spin, thus stirring the syringe content. In addition, the stirring ring moves linearly over the entire range of the syringe piston. The stirrer inside follows this linear movement, while it rotates uniformly.

These two movements of the stirring bar, rotation and linear movement, ensure an excellent mixing of the suspensions inside of the syringe over the entire range of the syringe plunger. The uniform, PID controlled propulsion of neMESYS syringe pump module then provides a pulsation-free dosing of this suspension.
