A range of compact power chucks with integral hydraulic cylinders designed for CNC lathes with ports for chuck actuation through the spindle walls. The design obviates the need for a drawtube enabling the full machine spindle bore to be utilised for maximum bar capacity. Collet pads may be fitted to the base jaws for first operation bar and shaft turning. The chuck body doubles as a cylinder and, being sealed inside, the mechanism is automatically lubricated. A controlled flow of fluid to the jaw ways provides base jaw lubrication. In the event of hydraulic failure, the mechanism is unique in being completely self-locking.
