SKF KFG piston pump unit for wind turbines has been especially developed for the wind industry. The design is based on SKF's proven KFG series of pumps, which are widely used across the globe in a variety of applications such as wheel loaders and machining centers.

Among the various advantages of the pump design is a reinforced grease reservoir, which is available in numerous sizes based on the needs of lubrication circuits. Also, the design enables dependable use in the wind energy system's rotating area. The reservoir allows filling from the top, resulting in a "first in - first out" use of grease. This prevents formation of old grease clumps. Pistons are positively driven, thus maintaining of grease delivery rates, including at temperatures as low as -30°C.
