The RackSwitch G8264 model from IBM System Networking is optimized for high bandwidth and low latency support applications. It supports technologies such OpenFlow and Virtual Fabric, and features up to 64 10-GB SFP+ ports ? all in a 1U form factor. There are also 4 40 GB QSFP+ ports to ensure scalability. Stacking is possible, as a configuration file ad single switch image can be used for up to 8 switches, sharing 1 management interface and a single IP address. The G8264 is designed for cloud, optimized workloads, and today?s big data. Since it can be used as a fully-featured data center switch, it can deliver high-bandwidth switching, traffic queuing, and filtering without data being delayed.
