Managed network switch / industrial / layer 2

The managed switch SCALANCE XB205-3 with 5 x 10/100 Mbit/s RJ45 ports and 3 x 100 Mbit/s BFOC/ST ports saves space and features a lightweight, industry-compatible plastic housing. It supports PROFINET and EtherNet/IP (selectably switchable) and can thus be used for real-time communication applications. Via its BFOC/ST ports, distances of up to 26 km can be covered.

In addition, it enables the setup of virtual networks thanks to its VLAN (Virtual Local Area Network) functionality, and can also be deployed in potentially explosive areas (IECEx/ATEX Zone 2/UL HazLoc).

A range of security functions make SCALANCE XB205-3 switch the ideal choice for use in network security concepts:
it can be configured either via the integrated SCALANCE XB205-3 web interface or, alternatively, a console port is available for connecting a terminal for configuration, management and diagnostics via CLI (Command Line Interface).
Network communications remain uninterrupted even in the event of a power failure thanks to the redundant power supply (9.6 to 28.8 V DC) implemented via two 3-pin connectors.
