New moisture analyzer developed by Olsen Hydrotracer offers many benefits like accuracy, effectiveness, cost effectiveness and quick. It helps in determining the content of moisture in the materials which use chemical determination over thermo gravimetric technique.

The new Tinius Olsen Hydrotracer moisture analyzer is actually based on the traditional techniques which involved heating of a specimen and weighing of the same before and after the water has been driven off and later comparing their weights. The new moisture analyzer uses a chemical reaction in order to measure the released moisture. The major advantage which a hydrotracer facilitates is that, the moisture once driven off is not reabsorbed into the specimen.

It works on a simple principle wherein, the specimen is heated, hot and humid vapors react with a reagent called calcium hydride and the result is hydrogen gas & calcium hydroxide. Hydrogen gas is measured because, it is correlated to the amount of water vapor.
