Weld seam detector

NS9N-AAD SC is autarchic weld seam sensor used for narrow metal strips of 30 mm (1.18 in) width, mainly for magnetisable steels or stainless steels with delta-ferrite in the weld seam and independent of optical surface discolorations. It includes an inexpensive control unit XA100 and two selectable different operating frequencies making it ideal for small machines. It offers analog outputs 4 to 20 mA or 2 to 10 V that can be linked to the PLC Cost-efficient control unit XA100-S.
The sensor is used for processing narrow gauge steel strips and long products like cable and wires, identify the joints between individual segments as in strip coils with transverse welds and cable coils with connectors and measure material type thickness such as Carbon steel: 0,2 mm 4 mm (0.008 in ... 0.158 in).
