The 2082 model is an optical repeater mini bit-driver®. The data rates from this device can reach 10Mbps up to 1000Mbps. The device is compatible with Ethernet and other LANs, WAN, switches and routers. The model is powered by the S.I. Tech with a power supply of #2164. The device consist of a status indicator and a single fiber option. It can use multi-mode or single mode option. The multi-mode can be converted in order to use a single mode.

The device is made to be a repeater on fiber optic links. Using a single mode fiber, the distance of a network link can be extended.
