Automatic splicing machine / paper roll

The Non Stop Splice, NSS, unwind, was the first automatic unwinder/splicer available for commercial use in the tissue industry. NSS allows automatic splicing during reel changes with no stop in production and a guaranteed low and constant web tension throughout the entire unwinding process. Conventional surface winding by belts has been replaced by an innovative centre-driven system that maintains the sheet calliper and reduces dust. Thanks to its modular design NSS is capable of working with one or two plies. The loading of parent reels is made by an overhead crane.
Precise Web Tension Control
A precise web tension control via load cells, low inertia dancer roller and driven chucks, guarantees the reel unwinding with a low and practically constant web tension even during the splicing cycle. This double tension con­trol is especially useful in case of parent rolls out of roundness.

Easy Splice Preparation
The splice preparation is simple, easy and safe for the operator because it is made on the cart when it is in the out position, away from the converting line. A second splice preparation area is available for marked sheet breaks.
