Sony ELC-MVS01 is an improved live production control system for MVS-8000X, MVS-7000X, MVS-6530, and MVS-3000A. ELC system has been developed to serve broadcasters' increasing needs for newsroom automation. This helps in improving the performance and productivity of newsroom. ELC helps grow on-air time with no rise in costs. All newsroom control functions can be managed from a dedicated operator zone. ELC can handle video/sound sources, studio cameras, audios, graphic devices, playout servers, and DDRs.

The system has built-in NRCS with an ActiveX plug-in. This combination helps in continuous monitoring of playlist and automatic readying of assets for the subsequent cue. Operator grasp is maintained as there is no modification of NRCS processes by adding ELC. NRCS continues to be the 'master', while workflows are mirrored by ELC. To put it simply, ELC works side-by-side to NRCS and other devices and not in between them. For critical tasks, ELC provides dual redundancy, thus the newsroom output is not compromised at any time.
