The diodes manufactured by Zener are fabricated in a proprietary silicon avalanche, using advanced technologies that protect each of the I/O pins, providing a high level of protection for various electronic equipment that could experience destructive electrostatic discharges (ESDs). The robust diodes in this series can absorb repetitive ESD strikes without any performance degradation. Next, each of the diodes can dissipate 7A surge current defined by very low clamping voltages.

In terms of the features, the low leakage current and fitting for solder footprints of industry standard devices are some of the most important advantages. Common applications are mobile phones, smartphones, PDAs and portable navigation devices, along with digital cameras and portable medical devices.
