These precision-pressure volume controllers by Ashcroft offer a quick-and-easy solution for closed pneumatic systems where it is necessary to have the pressure set precisely.

They can be used in conjuction with Ashcroft test gauges to calibrate pressure-measurement controllers and other similar devices.

The AVC unit is manufactued with a volume chamber and an internal piston assembly where the piston seals across the length of the chamber's diameter. This allows for the volume of the chamber to become part of the volume of the system as long as the AVC unit is connected to a pneumatic system.

At the front of the unit sits a pressure-adjust knob designed with a precision-machined lead screw, that can be used to reposition the piston inside the chamber in order to increase or decrease the volume of the system in accordance with the direction of movement.
