Ultrasonic flow meter / for gas / in-line

The Vympel-100 ultrasonic flow meter is designed to measure the flow rate and volume of natural gas and other gaseous media.

The innovative patented design of the Vympel-100 does not require the gas to actually flow through the flow meter, and the area required for mounting the flow meter is only 3 x D (D-diameter pipe). This design makes it easy to replace a turbine or rotary meter with a Vympel-100 flow meter.

The flow meter has a dynamic range ratio of 500:1.

Units from the Vympel-100 parametric flow meter series can be used in gas distribution networks with a working pressure of up to to 1.6 MPa. Flow meters in this series range in size from DN50 to DN200.

MEASUREMENT TECHNIQUE

In principle, the Vympel-100 belongs to the time-pulse ultrasonic flow meters, which measure the difference in pulse travel times of ultrasonic sound waves passing through the gas pipeline, both with the direction of flow and against it. The pulse signals are received and registered by a matched pair of piezoelectric sensors, which are mounted on the sensor pipeline, providing the measured flow rate. The sensors communicate with one another via an electronics unit.
