The collet design of these products can produce larger supporting force than a sleeve design, which can be provided in a compact body, ensuring better performance and stability, even at low clamping pressures. The larger supporting forces prevent workpiece chatter by cutting load and vibration and it is not necessary to machine an air vent or oil passage for mounting to base with a thread body style work support.

The threaded body work is maintained, while the wiper makes less contacting force with the rod, resulting in less friction. The wiper also makes less compact with the force produced by contact with the rod.
