Optical fiber multiplexer card

Complete electrical isolation is provided for the four-wire S/T Interface ISDN communication technology by this unit. The four channels offered by the FOM-5600 are independent of one another. Each of the four contains two switches that allow operators to select between different ISDN interfaces and modes. Ideal environments for the unit include areas with a high amount of electrical noise. It can also be used in and out of enclosures that are RF shielded.

Another benefit of the FOM-5600 is that it enhances communication privacy. This is due to the fact that optical cable is not vulnerable to impulse noise interference, EMI or crosstalk. Creating ground offsets or loops is eliminated since signal ground is prohibited from being carried over the fiber. Also, this unit offers a long transmission distance when compared to Cat5 cabling. Each of the four channels can be retimed to allow longer S-T runs.
