Filter presses are intended for mechanical dewatering of wastewater sludge and also of the water conditioning sludge and of the industrial slimes. Belt filter presses are used overall at the wastewater treatment plants doe to its high productivity and reliability.
Dewatered sludge of wastewater treatment plants after filter press reaches residual moisture about 75-80% at average polymer dose 2-3,5 kg/t of the sludge dry matter.
The filter presses are made of stainless steel AISI 304 and only their high-loaded shafts are made of carbon steel covered by solid polymer. The filter presses operate as a part of the mechanical dewatering complex. The standard complex can include: the thickener, initial sludge and flocculent solution dosing pump, the station of flocculent solution preparation, compressor, transporter for dewatered sludge.

Structurally, the belt filter press features a system of rollers installed on the frame between which the two endless belts are strained and connected into endless ducks. Two belt flushing assemblies, the device of sludge distributing all over the belt in the sludge feeding zone and the device of dewatered filter cake removal are provided for the filter press.

All movable parts have a heightened wear resistance and protection. All parts being in contact with sludge on stream are protected against corrosive medium.

Sludge dewatering installation in ?Comby? version features the belt filter press PL series and belt thickener SG mounted on it (see chapter 5.2).
