The PHT series Permanent-Magnet Hysteresis Clutch/Brakes deliver accurate and reliable torque, with minimal static and dynamic torque difference, as the hysteresis field is used for torque transmission. This also makes them immune to wear and friction enabling better accuracy and repeatability compared to standard friction tensioners. They provide a constant and stable torque regardless of the speed range or permissible slip speed, and each unit features manual torque adjustment over a wide range, for added flexibility. These units are supplied bearing mounted and preassembled simplifying installation. As these units transmit the torque via magnetic flux, there is no physical contact and no wear, enabling very long service life, and contamination free operation (no wear particles). Additionally, due to permanent magnets these units do not require an electrical power source.
