The Schaltbau M1 and M3 modular connector systems are industrial connectors which have been designed for safety and reliability in harsh environmental conditions. Resistant to the elements that can cause safety issues, such as dust, aggressive liquids or vapours as well as vibrations. Sealed to IP67, the M1 and M3 series are dustproof and water pressure-tight. They are also resistant to the effects of most acids and alkalis as well as extremes of temperature. By assembling additional O-rings between the connector shell and contact insert as well as between contacts and contact insert, the M1 Series connectors are sealed to IP67 (immersion protected). Thus protected, the connectors are water tight even when not mated, and the seepage of water into electric equipment through the connector is prevented.
