The Ruggedcom RX1100 router is made as a strong security appliance that features an integrated router, a firewall, VPN and intrusion detection or IDS system. This unit may be used to create added security around any assets in many automation systems in order to keep a unit from being disrupted or harmed by outside activities. This unit can work in a Wide or Local Area Network and can get a direct online connection if it is not within a company.

The security features on this unit include the IPSec Virtual Private Networking feature and firewall support that can link to many remote sites on a WAN. This also uses Intrusion Detection Service to manage real-time network traffic controls and to analyze what is being used on IP networks at a given time. Siemens has especially made this unit to be designed to where it can be added to just about any space as needed.
