Headwall's line of spectrographs and spectrometers are optical systems which are developed to decrease developmental costs. Single- and dual-beam versions are available. These can be configured for any spectral range and application space, from wavelength management to spectroscopic measurement.

Two of its models, the MD5 and the MD10 are dual-beam spectrometers which provide enhanced throughputs and fiber match (f/2.2) inputs on a half-inch detector. With a rugged construction, the MD5 has accurately built components that require no mechanical or optical adjustment. Built with the same concept, the MD10 provides a dual-beam input over a one-inch spectral length on separate detectors.

The aberration-corrected diffraction grating is the core technology behind the spectrometers. This provides low stray light, enhanced spectral and spatial resolution, and easy adjustment of wavelength and focus.
