Annealing furnace / electric / controlled atmosphere

Annealing atmospheres which contain carbon, oxygen... may contaminate the steel.

For example, the presence of carbon on the cold-rolled strip has a detrimental effect on the electrical properties, that's why the carbon level is kept to 0.005% or lower. The carbon level must be reduced by annealing the steel in a decarburizing furnace.

Fives proposes a large range of furnaces, Stein Digiflex®, which can be in place on annealing and decarburizing lines, to produce grain-oriented or non-grain-oriented electrical steel and whose design permits the required magnetic characteristics, in accordance with various standards such as EN 10106, EN 10107, ASTM976, as well as JISC2552.
