Key broaching machine

The BR 2/BL machine broaches the key section into plug bodies that are used in cylinders and padlocks.
Plugs are located using the pre-drilled pin holes for orientation.

Broaching is performed using a fixed horizontal broach. Two plugs are broached at the same time as they pass underneath the broach.
The two plugs are manually loaded into 2 fixtures that are part of a linear moving carriage. Side clamping jaws secure the plugs which are oriented using the pre-drilled pin holes. The carriage is mounted on precision ground and hardened guideways and a chain is used to drive the fixtures underneath the broach and back to the operator position.
Broaching is performed as a dry operation.
Plugs are manually loaded into the fixtures, while automatically clamped, broached and unloaded.

Broach segments are clamped using a quick clamp/unclamp system, that allows entire broaches or individual broach segments to be changed very quickly. This feature is particularly interesting when frequent broach profile changes are involved and machine flexibility is more important than high output.

Two machine models are available:
* BR 2/BL with a broach length up to 1200 mm.
* BR 2/BL/L with a broach length up to 1600 mm., for particularly deep and/or complicated profiles.
