MEMS pressure sensor

MELEXIS MLX90809 is an integrated relative pressure sensor delivering a ratiometric analog or digital signal. The unit is packaged and factory calibrated. The key features include high accuracy of 1.5% FSO, fully integrated IC, large automotive temperature range of -40°C to 150°C, automotive qualified and automotive diagnostic features, fully programmable through connector, assembled in a robust easy to seal package etc.

The unit uses a supply voltage of 18 V, reverse voltage protection of -14V, ESD sensitivity of 2kV and burst pressure of 5 bar. The unit promises a response time time 1msec. It is used in several applications like automotive applications, vacuum measurement, clogged filter detection, industrial applications, vacuum sensor, process monitoring, fluid pressure (low pressure/high
accuracy), consumer/home appliance applications, filter monitoring, dispensing/metering systems
and white goods etc.

It uses an optimized architecture and a high density CMOS technology with best in class automotive EMC performance. A DSP based architecture using a 16bit microcontroller provides outstanding performance in terms of initial accuracy. A smart package and die assembly concept suits applications with stringent automotive temperature and stress conditions needing small drift over life.
