Chimera is an ultra-fast fluorescence spectrometer from Light Conversion that is designed to accommodate liquid and solid samples. It incorporates the fluorescence up-conversion and time-correlated single photon counting techniques on a single instrument.

Fluorescence upconversion technique gives access to femtosecond fluorescence dynamics, whereas TCSPC is used for measuring the picosecond-to-microsecond kinetics over the entire spectral range of interest. This data can be used to conduct a spectral reconstruction procedure for the amplitudes of femtosecond traces.

The Chimera has a quick and easy operation, and contains a modular and flexible design. It is compatible with Pharos/Orpheus series lasers running, and uses Becker&Hickl time-correlated single-photon counter. It can be set at wavelengths from 400-1600 nm (1), has a delay range of 1.8 ns, and a delay step of 16.7 fs.
