Shank-type tools with Borapact (CBN) and diamond cutting edges are manufactured by Weiss AG. The Borapact tool may be used for shafts and spindles and chilled cast steel workpieces. They can also perform the machining of hard layers of metal arc welded alloys, turning of case-hardened coats on shafts, and other processes. The diamond shank-type tools are designed for collectors, ceramic parts, and electrodes, among others. They may be used for aluminium machining with high chip volume, titanium machining, and the processing of watch parts.

The Borapact or the diamond blanks are brazed or vacuum-brazed on steel or carbide material. Shapes available are produced according to DIN or to the manufacturer's design. Different CBN and diamond grades can be used depending on the application.
