The Wichita Air-Tube Disc Clutch is an all-round type clutch which has all the advantages of the direct air engagement. featured by the disc type clutch. With direct air engagement the unit is simple and has a trouble-free method of applying air pressure; this is done through direct axial pressure application, by compressed air in a special composition full-circle tube. The clutches engage smoothly without shock or noise and release completely in the fraction of a second. Because of the minimum volume of air required, fast action is possible. The acceleration rate can be controlled by slipping the clutches moderately .In the case of large inertia loads powered from electric motors, the smooth and controlled slip starts keep the power demands below maximum level.
