Eriez tramp oil separators are very essential as extra tramp oil causes problems to metal working fluid such as smoke, mist, and bacterial infestation. Thus, eliminating tramp oil should be the topmost priority for all metalworking units. Extra tramp oil also causes dermatitis. It has negative effects on tool's service life, surface finish and also control of dimensional tolerances.

In case the requirement is more than simple free oil removal, high speed centrifugation is employed. The most detrimental tramp oils to metalworking fluid are of partially emulsified-type or ones bound to the coolant. Not only that, they also pose the greatest challenge for removal.
