The Ultima® X Series is manufactured by MSA, and is a gas detector with an Infrared and microprocessor controlled detector. It is designed to provide constant monitoring of the combustible gases and vapors. It also features the DuraSource technology, which provides a longer IR life and brings a HART port for simple output access.

The unit is an explosion proof monitor that is made up of stainless steel, which can operate both indoors and outdoors. There is an IR technology that removes the need for frequent calibration and operates on dual wavelength heated optics technology basis. It has an LCD display that provides scrolling information while its optional quick check LED improves the visibility.

There is an MSA sensor that allows sensor replacements without declassifying the hazardous area.
