The POD, manufactured by PCI, is a universal 4-digit LED display ideal for 4 - 20 mA outputs provided with a DIN43650 connector. The plug-on display basically fits 9in the middle of the transmitter plug and connecting cable socket and is powered from the 4 - 20 mA current loop signal of the transmitter. Display settings are saved in non-volatile EEPROM, and can be easily changed through the menu utilizing 2 programming buttons. The display assembly inside the housing may be rotated through 90º steps, which will match any mounting angle and simple installation. It capable of being programmed at a single set-point level. The output can then by used to trigger an alarm or provided external controller. Typical applications for the plug-on display include use on pressure, temperature, level, RH, or flow transmitters for local readout, alarm activation or control.
