The Iris is manufactured by Horiba, and is a 4.2 megapixel scientific CMOS camera with 2048 x 2048 sensor size which allows a large field of view and ultimate image resolution. It has a camera that is peltier cooled allowing low dark current.

The unit comes with ultra-low noise, extreme sensitivity, wide dynamic range and high resolution. There is an excellent quantum efficiency of 63% at 500 nm and 34% at 850 nm.

There is a 12 bit A/D converter that provides a standard camera link output to offer the best, most excellent and economical interface solution. The unit also has an ultra high resolution of 5.5 µm x 5.5 µm. It can be applied in a wide variety of requisitions such as in astronomy, fluorescence imaging, TIRF microscopy, etc.
