316 stainless steel shaft collars from Ruland with 316 stainless steel screws for increased corrosion resistance.Food and drug processing facilities demand sanitized environments requiring the regular use of cleaning solutions, hot water and high-pressure sprays, with significant attention given to the elimination of both microscopic and particle level contaminants. These processes require equipment impervious to corrosive acids and salts often found in both raw materials and wash down solutions. 316-grade stainless steel includes more molybdenum than other grades and offers higher resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride environments.
